Introducing RotorFlex

RotorFlex is a modular peristaltic pump with regenerative farming in mind. The pump’s simple design and peristaltic mechanism makes it ideally suited to compost teas, as it overcomes the challenges with traditional pump mechanisms such as centrifugal or diaphragm designs. The pump is extremely accurate, low maintenance and is easily installed on a variety of machinery.

How does it work?

The pump’s peristaltic design works through a rotating roller compressing a rubber hose containing liquid, creating a vacuum which draws fluid through the tube. Nothing but the rubber hose touches the liquid, which eliminates any risk of the fluid damaging the mechanism of the pump due to wear.

Since the tube is constantly being squeezed at any point of the rollers rotation, there is no need for any valves even when the pump has stopped running. There are also no filters or spinning blades such as impellers that may damage the microbes in compost teas.

Why did we develop RotorFlex?

With fertiliser costs sky-rocketing and a growing number of farmers developing their own compost teas, we identified the need for a low cost, high accuracy pump that will work with a wide variety of liquids and accommodate the unique requirements of compost teas. As farmers start to move away from synthetic chemicals, it is vital there is a viable pump solution designed with compost teas in mind.

Typical fertiliser pump systems are often complex mechanisms, which can be sensitive to particulates, specific liquid densities and other variables. What farmers require are systems that are versatile, accommodating a range of applications, and reliable, minimising the risk of any downtime.

Our solution, the RotorFlex, is designed with these requirements and challenges in mind. Its unique peristaltic design overcomes the problems with existing fertiliser pump systems, whilst its simple modular design means its extremely easy to maintain and adapt to your application.
